About Nena Mala

Upcycling. Crafted. Conscious. Nena Mala is a studio dedicated to one-of-a-kind pieces, designed between Puerto Escondido, Paris and Ibiza. We transform vintage and forgotten garments into limited, expressive silhouettes.

Each drop is crafted in small quantities and often as unique pieces. Our approach embraces slow fashion: sourcing carefully, cutting waste, and privileging timeless shapes over trends.

Nena Mala is the work of Aliya Fellous, a Paris-born designer trained at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne. During the Covid years, grounded like everyone else, she set out to travel as soon as she could — and ended up in Puerto Escondido, on the Pacific coast of Mexico. She fell completely in love with the place. She stayed. She built her studio there.

Every summer, Aliya returns to Europe — to Paris, where she was born and raised, and to Ibiza, where she has been going since birth. The three places — Puerto Escondido, Paris, Ibiza — are not just where Nena Mala is made. They are what Nena Mala is made of.

Each piece begins with a vintage or deadstock fabric — something forgotten, something with a past. Aliya cuts, reworks, and finishes every garment by hand. No two pieces are the same. Once a piece is sold, it is gone.
